the lost world (jurassic park) /creature from the black lagoon

Let's just stop going into places where we don't belong - people.

Just out of random curiosity - see?

Now I know that if we hadn't gone in and pushed the Native Americans
aside - we wouldn't have come this far in America - and I do believe
we have come - far.

Just ask Clint Eastwood.

Our Best Half Is Yet To Come - here in our Really Cool Great Country.

But I think we should make an effort to show the Native Americans - that perhaps - WE DID THEM WRONG.

I'm not sure how - but I know if I get the chance I will try to show
them that I WANT THEIR FORGIVENESS AND RESPECT.

and let's leave places alone that we don't belong in - like outer space -
and the black lagoon - and the dinosaur island - wherever that is...

les miserables

I have this movie - but early this morning I let it run
by on my Study flat screen while I did housewife stuff.

~knowing glances & beautiful dialogue

~my disdain and comtempt for Inspector Javert - a defining
role for Geoffrey Rush - and even when he willfully drowned
himself I was not sorry

~in spite of her Father's attempt to keep her sheltered from
the outside world (see Forbidden Planet) Cosette just knew
what Love was - and that the Firebrand of a Revolutionary
Young Man - could fulfill her innermost desires

~when he successfully leaps the chasm- into the World in
which they will reside - with Cosette on his back

~Victor Hugo's Beautiful story

~The Revolution - ya gotta love a Revolution - folks - when
they ride the wagon and sing - with Flag Held High - later they
surely did the dance

splash

starring the guy who keeps trying to expose her for
what she Really was - but he helped them in the end

Oh Yeah - and it was one of Ron Howard's finest.

And Tom Hanks is in it - wasn't he.

and the Really Beautiful Darryl Hannah.

but it has a b*llsh*t ending - because why couldn't he come
back and see Freddie at Christmas?

air force one

Oh - I know what ya are thinkin' - folks.

stidh - ya dumb sh*t - that is an OLD movie - and it
wasn't even a Good movie.

Well - I beg to differ with ya - folks.

After all - Harrison Ford was President - wasn't he?

And I'm pretty sure that Harrison Ford could do as good a job
as President of the United States - as anyone - at this point.

And anyway - I just happened to be a Loser sitting here checking
out the 40 hbo movie channels - and Air Force One is on - and I
saw the scene where a number of those People manage to escape -
by parachuting out the back of the plane - with the Stars shining
brightly in sky - and - well -

It Just Got Me All Excited.

Now I would never parachute out of a plane - even at gunpoint.

And if I were PUSHED out of the plane - I would immediately die.

That's just how I am.

and Really - folks - does it get any better than Harrison Ford?

city slickers

Isn't this a Great movie - folks.

especially when the camera is on Bruno Kirby.

there will be blood

This Great Movie - and the highlights are:

~when he killed his brother - but he deserved it because
he Really wasn't

~when he made him Testify

~he Loved his son but he couldn't accept the imperfection

~he bashed his Head The F*ck In And Really Didn't The
Preacher Deserve It Folks

I heart this Movie

but No Country For Old Men was good too that was a tough call
the ending drove me f*in' nuts I'm going What? What?

the lost world

I never tire of watching this Great Movie - some
memorable moments from it are:

~huge trees

~a Classic Moive Quote -

'I'll be back in 4 or 5 days.'

'You'll be back in 5 or 6 pieces.'

~he shouldn't have bullied the little guy in the first place

~Sarah Palin

~they tore the Really nice little guy in half

~the adorable dino

~JEFF GOLDBLUM

~let them be - folks

and this Really cool movie is directed by:

the guy who gave us another Blockbuster -

Saving Private Ryan

in cold blood

This is a horror movie.

In Cold Blood takes you to a Place where you don't want to go.

In Cold Blood is about A Few Good Men.

It is about Truman Capote and William Blake.

And In Cold Blood is About Truth.

About Discovering Truth - and then Knowing what to do with it.

What do you do with Truth?

After the Initial Shock of it all you Learn to Live With It.

And in the End - it's all about Living.

About getting up to see the Great Light in the Sky just One More Time.

And then about Letting It Go.

Somethng that stidh Will Never Learn.

No - I'm not gonna let it go.

At least not until I just have a chance to 'talk' to him.

the jackal

For me there are only two people in this Movie.

And I love The Jackal.

I think it is a Really good movie.

First - I think that Bruce Willis nails it here are far as
portraying a Cold, Heartless, Dysfunctional Killer.

And Second - The Jackal Is My Favorite Jack Black movie.

I mean I always feel bad that Bruce Willis uses him for target
practice - and that he gets his arm blown off - but I just can't
help REALLY liking Jack Black in this Movie.

romeo + juliet

the one directed by Baz Luhrmann

starring:

~Leonardo DiCaprio

~Clare Danes

~Jesse Bradford

~Brian Dennehy

~Pete Postlethwaithe

and the rest of the cast

I like this movie because it is Really Cool.

You know - up to date.

But Shakesepeare got it Wrong.

I mean - it mkaes for a great Story - but they shouldn't have died.

They should have Lived Happily Ever After.

But no disrespect is meant in the Writing Of This Post.

I have nothing but the Utmost Respect for William Shakespeare -

but to me he was a little Dreary.

That's all.

I heart Hamlet - Starring Mel Gibson.

But that's not what this Post is all about...

this post is about Living Happily Ever After.

finding neverland

Directed by Marc Forster

Finding Neverland is simply a Good Movie.

I googled James M. Barrie - and I saw that there
is some underlying issue with him - but really -
what counts here is what he gave us and that is
what I am focusing on.

Some highlights for me are:

~when Johnny Depp does the dance with the dog (it's
always about doing the dance and always about the dog
folks cause they are always there for ya and don't let
ya down)

~anytime Dustin Hoffman makes an appearance

~jumping on the bed - with kids it's always about jumping
on the bed

~symbolic rain in the theatre

~and this is about Johnny Depp - in what I think is his
finest moment when he isn't dressed up as a character - but
of course there are Others

~Julie Christie

~why did she have to die in order to go to Neverland?

~why does someone always have to die?

Overcrowding of the Planet perhaps

one more thing about sweeney todd

I've made a Connection here.

That Connection was made when I picked up the
dvd case in which Sweeney Todd lives and I read
the words:

'...dark vision of a wronged man obsessed with revenge.'

And I immediately thought back to the 10th Anniversary of 9/11.

I remembered that while reading the Comments on a Blog that day -

That Some Of The Commenters Were Obsessed By Vengence In Their
Heart - Over This Terrible Thing That Had Happened To Our Country.

And I Remember Thinking That If Someone Wants To Live Out The
Rest Of Their Life With Hatred In Their Heart Then That Is
Their Problem -

BUT WE MUSTN'T PASS ON TO THE CHILDREN THIS FEELING OF HATEFUL
REVENGE AND IF WE DO -

well then - 'they' Really will have carried out 'their' mission
successfully to hurt Our Country.

sweeney todd - the demon barber of fleet street

I keep going back to Sweeney Todd.

Everybody already knows that Sweeney Todd
is about Three Geniuses:

Stephen Sondheim/Tim Burton/Johnny Depp

Everyone And Everything Else Connected to This
Movie Is REAL Genius.

That's it - Really.

and also - for me - this movie is about the director's WIFE.

what's eating gilbert grape

memorable moments:

~the realization that it really is Leonardo DiCaprio

~the night they burned the house down

~all of the rest of it

but what was eating gilbert grape because I'm thinkin'
that if we find that out maybe we can help Others.

30 days of night

It's tricky about Movies.

Now this is a Really good movie.

But it's about Vampires.

And I'm Scared of Vampires - and Zombies.

I mean it's nothing Personal.

I figured out why I'm scared of them:

~it's the look in their Eyes

~and the way they Move

~like all of a Sudden they are There

~to me they seem a little mean

but ya wanna know what?

There's Something Graceful About Vampires - and Zombies.

They Move Around Kinda Like Ballet Dancers.

plus in the ending of 30 days of night Josh Hartnett
disintegrates into ashes in the arms of Melissa George
and it makes her sad...

but she Just Knows

that it is Meant To Be.

tombstone

This is definitely a Guy Movie.

Oh I've seen it.

And I like it.

It's really good.

Sure it's Bloody and Violent. :[

But look at all those good Movie Stars that are in it:

~Kurt Russell (Overboard, The Thing)

~Val Kilmer (Heat - Yes!)

~Bill Paxton (Titanic, Aliens - ya gotta love Bill Paxton)

~Michael Biehn - (The Terminator, Aliens)

~Sam Eliot - (Gettysberg, Frogs, Ghost Rider)

And of course there were Others.

Well - it has Charleton Heston in it too - doesn't it?

But it has Meaning in it too.

Ya know the thing I Really like about Tombstone though -

is the ending.

when they do the dance.

fallen

For me Fallen is not just about the Invisible Demon who
gets around by Touch.

I do love this movie - and really Denzel Washington is a
great Actor. And he is so versitile - I mean he plays nice
guys and even is convincing as the Bad Cop.

And of course Ethan Hawke - whenever I see Ethan Hawke in a
movie I just want to give him a big Hug.

Yes - Fallen is One of the Good Ones.

but for me the defining moment in Fallen comes at the
beginning - and it has come back to me many times - and
that is when:

James Gandolfini takes the Final Stroll down Cell Aisle
while all the Time singing - Time Is On My Side.

it just doesn't get any better than that folks

i didn't know

I just checked out to see who this

GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE

was directed by.

I stare at the name of the Director in
incredulous disbelief.

POLLACK WAS DIRECTED BY ED HARRIS

i didn't know

What else don't I know?

Pollock

...in the morning.

It's not just about Jackson Pollock though.

It's Really about Lee Krasner.

Becuase whe set aside her Life for the Man
she Loved.

Because she just Knew that it was her Destiny.

and it's about Ed Harris.

who Really nailed it - didn't he.

War of the Worlds (1953)

War of the Worlds is right on top of my list
of Old Science Fiction Movies.

It is a mean-Aliens-invade-the Earth movie - and
does not disappoint in that Respect.

Right from the start it brings on the Action - and
Really never stops - until the thin Slimey hand ceases
to move - like Capt. Miller when he Finds Peace at last.

The Special Effects are first rate - and the acting is
non-existent.

But I have a few Issues with these Early Sci-fi movies -
in spite of my great attraction to them:

~The women are allowed to be intelligent and beautiful -
but must cry and show weakness at any sign of danger -
must serve the coffee - all while wearing a dress.

~The heroes are Men - and handsome at that - and in this
particular movie the dumbest and first to be zapped by the
Aliens is a South of the Border Person and I'm sure there
are Smart People residing there too.

~Talk about somebody's idea of setting the standard for
type-casting and showing us what is what.

~The military always looks stupid in these movies - as a
Whole - but certainly today that would not Fly - with our
up to snuff really cool Troops.

~Even God is Glorified in the Early sci-fi movies - and I'm
not knocking that folks - but somehow that got last along
the way - however that is just their Opinion. : ]

~In the end - the Wisdom of the Sovereign Creator is blatantly
Obvious - when it is the common germ that puts the whole matter
to rest.

Really though - I actually love these Early Sci-Fi Movies
and actually feel better having gotten this off of my chest.

One final thing - I thought the remake of W of the W - starring
Tom Cruise was ablsolutely Fantastic - I just thought the director
got lost along the way when Tom did in Tim Robbins with the Shovel.

Was it something Personal?

Or what?

i am number

Here's another movie I got burned on.

Someone came to my house - wait a minute.

No one ever comes to my house.

But really folks this really good movie is
directed by D.J. Caruso.

Now I was going to tell you who D. J. Caruso
is - and what other movies he directed - but
everytime I try to do that something appears
that says that they are going to:

Black Out Wikipedia

Well if they do that - then that may put an
end to my writing career here on my really
cool Blogs.

What is going on here folks.

transsiberian

Transsiberian is about -

how Woody Harrelson plays a really nice guy as
compared to a f*ing nutjob in wag the dog

No - I'm just kidding folks..

Transsiberian is really good.

I mean - it has Ben Kingsley in it.

And you get to see a train going through Siberia.

And while Jesse (Woody's wife) and Carlos (a really
cool guy) exchange meaningful glances behind the back
of Abby (Kate Mara) Jesse gets really mad at Carlos
and leaves him in the Cold.

Well - all's well that ends well cause Abby - after having
gone thought the mill - hikes out to get what she really
deserves after Jesse has a moment of Truth and tells her.

Did I mention that Emily Mortimer~Eduardo Noriega~and
especially Thomas Kretschmann are also in it?

Transsiberian is whatcha might call a 'sleeper.'

Although hard as you may try - you won't sleep through this one.

folks

A film by Brad Anderson.

you can't escape your lies

michael clayton

This most amazing movie is about -

George Clooney.

It is written and directed by Tony Gilroy.

Michael Clayton is about a lawyer.

George Clooney.

Also acting in Michael Clayton are people like:

Tom Wilkinson.

Who was born for the very purpose of
acting in the movie In The Bedroom.

Tilda Swinton.

Sydney Pollack - who died.

Michael Clayton is about:

Wall Street.

And how Justice is done but somebody's gotta go to jail.

Philadelpha.

And how someone has to die before we
can move on.

and most of all Michael Clayton is about finding out
and really not being able to wrap your mind around it.

burn after reading

This movie is great.

Of course with George Clooney in it you always
are going to have something off color. : [

But really George Clooney is great in this movie.

As is Brad Pitt - and if you watch this movie you
will see Brad Pitt in a way - I guarantee you -
you will never see him in any movie before or
after this.

John Malkovich is so good in Burn After Reading it is
really amazing - but then what else is new folks.

I absolutley love Frances McDormand ever since I saw her
in Fargo and then she got Best Actress.

Tilda Swinton - a British actress - plays JM's wife in this
but she is really having an affair with GC. She got Best
Supporting Actress in Michael Clayton which I will write
about tomorrow.

This movie is a comedy.

It was written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen.

need I say more?
