stupid bullsh*t movie
the ending is wrong
she doesn't love her husband
he just thinks he loves her but he's a user and
won't let her go because without her he is nothing
without him she is free and you gotta get out of the
cage before ya die
I haven't seen it, but it looks like the kind of movie I avoid like the plague. You know that I don't watch many movies, so when I do go out for one (Harry Potter #7 with my daughters and a group of their friends) or stay home with a
ReplyDeleteDVD (Mindhunters -my sister, who watches tons of movies, forced it on me as one I would like), they have to be worth my time.
I would like to see Daniel Radcliff's The Woman In Black even though it didn't do too well in the box office.
Just my thoughts.
Cube - I totally agree with ya on this one - it is a chix flix to the nth degree.
ReplyDeleteI think HP movies are great - I just don't like them. : ]
Haven't heard of Mindhunters.
I like Daniel Radcliffe - he was Really good hosting SNL.
Thanks -Cube. I just now saw this.
I hate chick flicks and coming of age movies. Time is too short to waste on them.
ReplyDeleteI got into the world of Harry Potter years ago when my daughters started to read the books. I heard so much nonsense about them in the media that I decided I would have to read them for myself. I never listen to critics. Anyway, I got caught up in the story and have never looked back.
I hadn't heard of Mindhunters either. My sister knows I like forensic/serial killer profiling stuff and she recommended it.
I didn't see the SNL appearance, but I saw Radcliffe on Bravo's Watch What Happens and he was genuinely funny and utterly charming.
Cube - There is one chix flix that I do like - My Best Friend's Wedding - with J. Roberts.
ReplyDeleteI think the thing I don't like about HP movies - is that they have witchcraft in them - not that there's anything wrong with it. It's just not my Thing.
And I don't read the books because they are long and I'm not a prolific reader. I think J. K Rowlings is amazing. I see where she is going to write for adults now.
When I'm shopping I see a lot of Stieg Larsson (sp?) on the stands - he's the one you said you like.
Thanks Cube - I Really enjoy your comments.
About SNL - I love it these days but it doesn't come on until 11:30 pm ET - now that I have moved - and unless it has a Really special guest host - I shut it off at midnight.
ReplyDeleteBut it has Really gotten good.
Sue, you need to get a DVR. They are wonderful. Easy to program. Easy to use. Just set your DVR to record SNL, or any program, and it will keep it for you until you're ready to watch it. They also allow rewinding and starting a program over if you've missed a portion... and no, I don't work for the cable company
ReplyDelete;-)
BTW, although I had never heard of it, Mindhunters turned out to be pretty good.
ReplyDeleteThe other two movies my sister "forced" on me (she thinks I read too much and don't watch enough movies) were Mirrors with Kiefer Sutherland which, it turns out, I had already seen. Good movie, though, especially if you like Kiefer's work.
The second was Splice, a sci-fi thriller with Adrian Brody. It wasn't a bad movie, but the "science" in the film was laugh-out-loud funny in my view. Buy hey, sometimes you have to suspend disbelief and enjoy the movie.
Cube - Your advice about getting a DVR is good - but the problem is I am so Ignorant about technology. I mean - once I catch on to something I'm ok - but it's taking that first step and actually getting into it.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to take that under consideration - though - because I do get Really tired but by 11 or 12 - and just shut down.
Thanks Cube
Cube - I am not familiar with those movies you mention.
ReplyDeleteBut I find that rarely do I catch on to the type of movies that Others like - and I don't.
It's just what you like - really.
Hey - I see a lot of Steig Larsson (sp) stuff on sale - and I noticed that one of his movies was up for an Oscar. Are you still into that?
DVRs are SUPER easy to use. Really.
ReplyDeleteI understand when you talk about people recommending movies that you may not like, but this doesn't happen with my sister. She knows me too well for that. With the exception of the mindless comedies she loves, we have similar tastes in movies.
I have read all 3 books by Larsson and will catch the movie when it comes out on DVD. My mother in law gave me a copy of Larsson's girlfriend's book, "There are things I want you to know" about Stieg Larsson and me. I haven't read it yet. Too much on my To Read list.
Cube - I can understand what you are saying about your Lists - and that they are so long.
ReplyDeleteAbout Movies 'Others' want you to see - and books 'Others' want you to read.
My problem is a little bit different.
It seems that Others - want me to 'be' different - like them - for example.
It seems that How I Am - is not good enough to suit them.
Know what I mean - Cube?
Don't worry about what others want you to be. To quote Annie Lennox, "Be true to yourself and you can't go wrong."
ReplyDeleteThanks Cube.
ReplyDeleteI having been working on that for a while now - and I think I am doing ok with it.
Two other People who have helped with that are:
William Shakespeare - whose quote from Hamlet -
This Above All - To Thine Own Self Be True.
And Then Thou Canst Not Be False To Any Man.
And Michael Jordan - I cut this out of an interview in a magazine once:
It goes something like - Authenticity Is Being True To Who You Are - Even If Everyone Else Wants You To Be Someone Else.
I have that one Front And Center On My Desk.
Even if ya don't like Sports - I don't think you can go wrong with Michael Jordan.
